The Roxy Pro started yesterday at Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta, forming part of the ASP World Championship Tour. We caught up with the amazing 19 year old Sally Fitzgibbons who is competing in the comp.

I am...Sally Fitzgibbons

I grew up in...Gerroa NSW Australia

Winning the 800m and 1500m at the Youth Olympics was...A big achievement for me; it was a definite highlight in my running career. It was an amazing feeling to have a lot of hard work pay off.

I started surfing...When I was six years old with my Dad and three older brothers.

My surfing career has taken me...Above and beyond my wildest expectations. Surfing is something I love and can't imagine myself doing anything else. It’s my dream job.

The trickiest thing I can do on a surfboard is...Going switch foot... haha

When I'm not surfing I...love hanging out with family and friends, going to the movies, playing ping pong and watching other sports and cheering for my favourite teams.

In my short life I have learnt...A lot ... life is full of ups and downs, I'm still young and have many things to learn. I am sure travelling the world as a Pr Surfer there will be a lot of life experiences and challenges still to be thrown my way.

My first crush was...My friend Louis Sutherland back in primary school.

I would recommend you...Relax and have fun in life. Do things out of your regular routine and treat yourself from time to time because you deserve it.

I never leave the house without...My wallet, phone, keys, Banana Boat sunscreen, surfboard and sunglasses. They are the basics for any day out!

Tomorrow I will...Fly to the Gold Coast for the day with my sponsor Roxy.

In the future I hope to...Win a World Title and be healthy and happy.

We think Sally is amazing and we wish her all the best for 2010. You can keep up to date at http://www.sallyfitzgibbons.com/
